Ararat River GreenwayThe Ararat River Greenway is a paved 2.2-mile greenway trail from Riverside Park to Tharrington Park. This section of the river has been restored and is great for wildlife viewing, kayaking, canoeing and trout fishing. The entire length of the trail is stocked with trout. There are multiple canoe/kayak/tube launch stations as well as areas for sitting by the river. A restroom is available halfway down the trail, on a side trail to the environmental park.

Emily B. Taylor GreenwayThe Emily B. Taylor Greenway is approximately 2.5 miles in length (one way). It is a paved surface, multipurpose trail that goes from Veteran's Park on West Lebanon Street to Worth Street. The greenway is maintained by the local parks and recreation deparment and continues to be one of the most utilized park facilities in Mount Airy.

Mount Airy Cyclery & Bike MuseumMore than just a full-service cycle shop, Mount Airy Cyclery is also a museum. It showcases the owner's personal collection of more than 70 historical bikes, some dating to pre-World War II, as well as vintage mountain bikes and road cycles. The spacious store sells entry-level to high-end bikes and offers professional bike fitting and repairs.

Pilot Mountain State ParkPilot Mountain State Park is anchored by the rocky peak that provides its name. The 3,735-acre park is comprised of two sections - the Mountain section and the Yadkin River section. The two sections are connected by a 6.5-mile trail corridor. The Mountain section is the more popular of the two. It is home to the signature peak, as well as the park office, nine hiking trails, a horseback trail, parking area, camping, rock climbing and rappelling. The Yadkin River section has five hiking trails, a horse trail, canoe launch and canoe-in camping.
