Insane Terrain 5K and 25K Trail Race

Runners have two options, both on interesting terrain, in the annual Insane Terrain 5K and 25K races. The races, which start at Elkin Municipal Park, are hosted by the Elkin Valley Trails Association (EVTA).
The EVTA has constructed miles of unique trails along Big Elkin Creek, many of them highlighted by large, beautiful foot bridges. Enjoy a variety of scenery ranging from waterfalls to wildflowers to mountain terrain to fall colors.
The race is also the same morning as the annual Yadkin Valley Pumpkin Festival in Elkin. Winners will receive awards and cash prizes, and all runners, hikers and walkers are welcome.
