Founded in 1982, The Elkin Big Band is an authentic 20-piece big band - thirteen horns, a full rhythm section and vocalists. A rarity in today's world, we make the kind of music heard on stage at The Apollo, The Lumina, The Cotton Club, and Carnegie Hall. We take up a lot of space acoustically. Our broad repertoire includes many of the greatest charts in the history of jazz from the 1920s through the present day. We play Irving Berlin to Herbie Hancock, Leonard Bernstein to Miles Davis, Duke Ellington to Stevie Wonder, George Gershwin to Quincy Jones; our catalog represents a deep dive into the genre and everything we play is danceable. Our band adds what many people have called a “glamour factor” to any occasion. Simply said, it is not something that one sees or hears every day. If you are searching for a spectacular musical experience for your event, we would be more than pleased to provide you with an evening that you and your guests will never forget.

Experience The Haunting at Miss Angels Farm, taking place every Friday and Saturday in October from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., beginning Friday, October 3, through Friday, October 31, 2025.

Trick or Treat in downtown Elkin along Main Street with your little ones from 5:00 till 8:00 pm. Roads will be closed off on Main Street from Court St to the Post Office for the safety of the little ones. Police will also be at busy intersections. Downtown businesses will be open and handing out candy until they run out! We look forward to seeing you downtown!

Join us for the Elkin Cruise-In on the 4th Sunday of each month (March-November, excluding July) from 2pm until 5pm at the Yadkin Valley Heritage & Trails Center. Enjoy a day filled with classic cars and family-friendly fun in Downtown Elkin. Plus, don’t miss live music at The Creek Stage (small stage) from 2pm until 4pm, sponsored by Explore Elkin. Bring the whole family, check out some amazing rides, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the good times! Free to attend & all are welcome!
