The Martha Bassett Show - Alice Howe + Freebo & More

Alice Howe and Freebo present a unique study in contrasts, bringing together a venerable music icon and a talented newcomer. Each a compelling performer in his or her own right, they both lead and support each other in their well-crafted songs with flawless harmonies and tasteful instrumentation. A rising voice in modern folk, singer and songwriter Alice Howe offers a modern love letter to '60s and '70s folk and timeless blues. Freebo is a genuine folk, rock and blues icon who, after more than 40 years of recording and touring with many of the great artists of our time (Bonnie Raitt, Ringo Starr, Neil Young) is regarded as one of the most gifted singer-songwriters of today.

Additional performers for the evening include singer-songwriter Terri Binion and pedal-steel-guitar virtuoso DaShawn Hickman.

The Martha Bassett Show is modeled on old-time radio shows with a hint of the modern. It draws on influences from far and wide, but maintains the distinct feel and flair of North Carolina's Piedmont region. Host Martha Bassett has been making music in NC and beyond for more than 20 years.
