Music at the Market: Hubert Lawson & the Bluegrass Country Boys

Good food, agriculture and bluegrass pickin' are staples in Surry County. This summer and fall, these three regional hallmarks come together with the Music at the Market concert series on Friday evenings at Dobson Farmers Market.

This installment features Hubert Lawson & the Bluegrass Country Boys. The hard-driving traditional band specializes in bluegrass and bluegrass gospel. Hubert Lawson, who emcees the show and plays guitar, shares the stage with his wife, Vera, on bass and their two sons, Lee and Eddie. From strong family harmonies to well-rounded instrumentals, the band is a must see.

Food trucks for the evening are My Kitchen (burgers, wraps and more) and Station 1978 Firehouse Peanuts.

Food trucks begin serving at 6 p.m., and bluegrass pickin' starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Lawn chairs encouraged.
