First Saturdays of each month, May - November enjoy an exciting 60-minute round trip trolley ride through Mount Airy's streets and its historic past. You will hear about 13 of our "less mortal" friends and some of Mount Airy's resting places. Tours begin at the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History, 301 N. Main Street. Historic Downtown Mount Airy Ghost Tours are held every Friday and Saturday night at 8pm beginning May through November 13. Join us for an exciting 90-minute, lantern-lit walking tour through Mount Airy's streets and its historic past. Join us for a magical Christmas parade, where the spirit of the season shines brightly! Celebrate with us and enjoy a festive display of holiday cheer and catch a glimpse of Santa Claus! ​​ The parade will leave from Veterans Park at 5:00 PM and travel down W. Lebanon Street to N. Main and through Downtown Mount Airy.

Grab your running shoes and experience the festive town of Mount Airy this Christmas season at the 19th annual Rosy Cheeks 5K. Sponsored by Mount Airy Parks and Recreation, the race takes place on Dec. 12 at 9 am. The course follows the scenic Ararat River Greenway, with the starting line positioned just past the Riverside Park trailhead. A free Fun Run for kids occurs immediately after the 5K. All participants are asked to bring an unwrapped toy, gift, or gift card for an elementary school-age, middle school-age, or high school-age child. These will be donated to the Mount Airy Police Department Toy Drive.
