Historic Ghost Tours - Mount Airy

The Remember Rockford Preservation Society presents their annual “Rediscover Rockford” program. The program begins at 10am with guest speaker, Nancy Reeder. Nancy is a Storyteller and an Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, and Mountains to Sea Trail hiker and has many “Tales from the Trails” to share. Nancy’s storytelling performances come directly from her own experiences. She also does an impersonation of Grandma Emma Gatewood, who without a tent, sleeping bag, or maps, thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail by herself. Nancy brings Emma to life through costume, Emma’s memories, and observations. This will be so interesting! Nancy will be followed by traditional music at 11am. A BBQ Lunch will be available beginning at noon. Plates are $12 per person. Rockford Tours in the Village begin at 1pm. Program is FREE and open to the public. Are you looking for more Ghosts?  Don't miss the Pilot Mountain Ghost Tours held the first Friday of every month May through October with an addition tour scheduled for Halloween on Friday October 31. This 60-minute tour will lead guests through Downtown Pilot Mountain where you will hear stories of murder, aliens, and maybe even bigfoot! The tour begins at The Grove Teas and Botanical Gifts located at 127 W. Main Street in Pilot Mountain at 8pm. Wear comfortable shoes and bring your camera and umbrella, if needed. Tours are rain or shine. Tickets are $20 (Tax Included) and advance purchase is recommended!

You will hear about 13 of our "less mortal" friends and some of Mount Airy's resting places. Tours begin at the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History, 301 N. Main Street.
