Time Sawyer is interested in “real people and real songs." The band blends a grassroots feel with heartfelt lyrics to put on an entertaining show. From introspective ballads to high-energy crowd-pleasers, Time Sawyer’s songs land in that rootsy sweet spot where folk, alt-country and rock gather for a good time.
Time Sawyer has performed iconic festivals throughout the Southeast, including Merlefest, Floydfest, Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion, Albino Skunk Music Festival, Carolina in the Fall and IBMA’s Bluegrass First Class. The band has shared bills with Langhorne Slim, Eric Krasno, John Moreland, Steep Canyon Rangers, The Wood Brothers, Susto and many more.

30The Elkin Big Band "Singin' and Swingin'"
Oct 30, 2025 7:30 p.m.
Andy Griffith Playhouse, 218 Rockford Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030Founded in 1982, The Elkin Big Band is an authentic 20-piece big band - thirteen horns, a full rhythm section and vocalists. A rarity in today's world, we make the kind of music heard on stage at The Apollo, The Lumina, The Cotton Club, and Carnegie Hall. We take up a lot of space acoustically. Our broad repertoire includes many of the greatest charts in the history of jazz from the 1920s through the present day. We play Irving Berlin to Herbie Hancock, Leonard Bernstein to Miles Davis, Duke Ellington to Stevie Wonder, George Gershwin to Quincy Jones; our catalog represents a deep dive into the genre and everything we play is danceable. Our band adds what many people have called a “glamour factor” to any occasion. Simply said, it is not something that one sees or hears every day. If you are searching for a spectacular musical experience for your event, we would be more than pleased to provide you with an evening that you and your guests will never forget. -
