Chris Cavaughn

Prior to founding Magellan Strategy Group in 2004, Cavanaugh served as vice president of marketing for The Biltmore Company in Asheville, NC, the owner of Biltmore Estate, America’s largest home. While at Biltmore, Cavanaugh helped guide the company’s marketing planning, strategy, and execution for almost ten years as part of an amazing team of talented people. During his time, the Biltmore team doubled its annual revenue and became the most visited historic house attraction in the U.S. Cavanaugh also directed marketing for the Inn on Biltmore Estate, a four-star hotel on the property, and the Biltmore Estate Winery, the most visited winery in the nation.

Craig Distl

Craig Distl is an award-winning journalist who spent a decade as a reporter before launching his public relations firm in 1999. That firm – Distl Public Relations – has represented tourism, hospitality and golf industry clients in North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and Louisiana. During his tenure as a PR specialist, Craig has created and implemented many successful public relations and branding campaigns. He's worked with journalists in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Craig is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers. In 2010 he received the Charles Kuralt Award from the NC Travel Industry Association for "bringing exceptional, positive public attention to the state of North Carolina."
