Opera in the Vineyards
Event
JOLO Winery & Vineyards hosts a special evening of opera (and dinner) in the vineyards on Friday, Dec. 3.
The evening is organized by David Holley, artistic director of Greensboro Opera, and proceeds will benefit that organization. A total of five singers will perform such operatic favorites as:
- "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess
- "Seguidilla" from Carmen
- "Libiamo ne' lieti calici" from La Traviata
- "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz" from Land of Smiles
- Along with other opera favorites
The event takes place in the vineyard pavilion and includes a four-course meal with wine pairings. The choice of main entrée is prime rib or salmon Oscar. The meal starts with an appetizer course, followed by a salad course, main course and dessert course of chocolate mousse cake with berry coulis. Dinner begins promptly at 7 p.m. and patrons are urged to arrive about 30 minutes prior.
In addition to the opera performances, there will be sing-along Christmas carols and other entertainment.
Tickets for the event are $149 per person + tax and gratuity. Ticket information is available here.
