Wayne Erbsen Beginning Bluegrass Banjo Workshops

Join us for a beginner-friendly bluegrass banjo workshop in the Betty Wright Room at the Arts Center, located across from the Andy Griffith Playhouse. Led by renowned musician Wayne Erbsen, this workshop is designed for those with no prior banjo experience. Participants will learn classic tunes like I’ll Fly Away and The Ballad of Jed Clampett. Banjos are available to rent for $10.
Wayne Erbsen is a respected multi-instrumentalist and music historian specializing in old-time, bluegrass, folk, Appalachian, gospel, and Civil War-era music. Proficient in clawhammer and bluegrass banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and guitar, he has performed throughout the U.S. and Western Europe, recorded numerous albums, and authored many instructional books and song collections.
Workshop fee: $35 per person.
