53rd Annual Blue Grass & Old-Time Fiddlers Convention
Event
Since 1972, the Blue Grass & Old-Time Fiddlers Convention has honored Surry County’s rich musical legacy, drawing musicians and fans from near and far to celebrate the roots of old-time and bluegrass music. Now in its 53rd year, the convention continues to be a highlight of the summer, filled with music, movement, and community spirit.
This two-day event features live competitions in both band and solo categories, jam sessions that pop up across the park, flatfoot dancing, singing, and educational opportunities that keep the traditions alive for the next generation. Cash prizes will be awarded to top performers.
Schedule
Friday, June 6 – Music begins at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 7 – Festivities start at 9:30 a.m.
Admission
Friday: $10 wristband (park access)
Saturday: $10 wristband (park access)
Campers: $20 wristband covers both days
Contestants: $20 entry ($10 refunded Saturday after performance)
Camping Details
- Full hook-up campers: $35/day plus $20 for a week-long wristband and parking pass
- Tent camping (no hook-up): $10/day plus $20 for a week-long wristband and parking pass
- Advance camping reservations must cover the full week and include wristband fees.
