Autumn Leaves Festival
Event
Downtown Mount Airy comes to life with the works of more than 200 artisans during the height of fall leaf-viewing season. Crafters line both sides of Main Street, with many demonstrating talents and skills passed down through generations.
The roster of artisans and crafters runs the spectrum from pottery to paintings to textiles to jewelry to accessories and more. Then, there is "food for the soul" — ham biscuits, collards, cornbread, barbecue, ground-steak sandwiches and more served with hospitality by local civic and service organizations. It's a walker's paradise with visual delights and mouthwatering treats at every stop.
The festival also showcases Mount Airy's rich musical heritage, with old-time, bluegrass and gospel performed by local musicians on the downtown stage.
