Music at the Market: Gap Civil
Event
Good food, agriculture and bluegrass pickin' are staples in Surry County. This summer and fall, these three regional hallmarks come together with the Music at the Market concert series on Friday evenings at Dobson Farmers Market.
Gap Civil is an Appalachian Mountain band. Its motto is honor and innovation. The group honors the mountain traditions that shaped the bluegrass genre, while taking great pride in original songs, tunes and arrangements. Gap Civil blends old-time, country, bluegrass and Americana. This music is sure to make you want to dance, whether that means hitting the floor with a driving flatfoot or pulling that special someone close with a honky-tonk two-step.
Food trucks for the evening are Mermaids on the Go (fried seafood) and Station 1978 Firehouse Peanuts.
Food trucks begin serving at 6 p.m., and bluegrass pickin' starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Lawn chairs encouraged.
