Celebrate 76 years of beloved radio station WPAQ in Mount Airy. Bands will perform in honor of the station's birthday.
In 1948, WPAQ "Merry-Go-Round" debuted as a live radio broadcast. The show is the second longest continuously running live radio broadcast in the nation, behind "The Grand Ole Opry." The weekly live broadcast showcases local, regional and national performers. Among the regional and national performers who've appeared on the show are Tommy Jarrell, Benton Flippen, the Carter Family, Bill and Charlie Monroe, Grandpa Jones, Ralph Stanley, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, and Mac Wiseman.
Admission is free.

Each event will be from 3:00PM until 9:00PM and feature live music at Dobson Square Park from 6:00PM until 9:00PM with food trucks and vendors on site. -

Surry County Farmers Market 903 East Atkins Street, Dobson, NC 27017Come out and enjoy the 2026 Music at the Market Concert Series at the Surry County Farmers Market, 903 E. Atkins Street, Dobson, NC 27017. Each event will begin with Food Trucks on site at 6PM followed by Music from 7PM until 9PM. Bring your lawn chairs, admission is FREE! In the event of bad weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Surry County Service Center, directly across the parking lot from the Surry County Farmers Market.
