Delayed Harvest Trout Fishing, Big Elkin Creek

Delayed Harvest Trout Fishing Big Elkin Creek

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission's delayed harvest is a popular program in which certain waters are stocked with rainbow, brook and brown trout in spring and fall. Anglers are only allowed to harvest (keep) their catches from early June through September, thus creating better fishing conditions throughout the year. Delayed harvest fishing is available in Big Elkin Creek from the dam 440 yards upstream of the NC Hwy. 268 bridge to a point 265 yards downstream of the NC Hwy. 268 bridge, as marked by a sign on each bank.
