A perk of visiting Yadkin Valley wine country is staying in the vineyards. Several wineries along the Surry County Wine Trail offer lodging on property. Whether you’re looking for a romantic hideaway for two or a larger option for a group, there’s a spot for you.

Nearly two decades after they invested heavily in the winemaking program at Surry Community College, Ed and Charlie Shelton hired winemaker Ethan Brown, a graduate of the college’s Shelton-Badgett NC Center for Viticulture and Enology.

Dobson Square Park also includes a playground, which recently received a new swing set; picnic shelters; an amphitheater; a walking trail; and restrooms.

Herrera Vineyards offers a dozen wines crafted by winemaker Kevin Childers, a graduate of the enology and viticulture program at Surry Community College.
